    Since 2004, a heartwarming collaboration has unfolded annually, spanning 19 years of partnership between Nike and OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. This initiative invites young patients to design sneakers, resulting in the beloved charity collection known as "Doernbecher Freestyle." The previous charity series has consistently captivated with its aesthetics, earning deep admiration. In October 2023, the Doernbecher Freestyle XIX series was unveiled, showcasing six distinctive shoes crafted by pediatric patients at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. The highly anticipated charity sneakers are set to make their debut during the holiday season.
    Hugo “Juice” Covarrubias Molina, the creative mind behind the Air Jordan 3s in this series, drew inspiration from the vibrant team colors of the Seattle Seahawks—navy and slime green. The latter color gracefully descends along the ankle, paying homage to the little boy's endearing nickname. Reflecting Juice's affinity for exquisite jewelry, the tag is impressively plated in 24-karat gold. The outsole of the shoe conveys a poignant message: "It's okay to be different," serving as Hugo's personal source of inspiration in navigating Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome. This marks the second appearance of the Air Jordan 3 in the annual Doernbecher Freestyle sneaker collection, with its initial debut in 2010 featuring a red and silver design and a subsequent re-release in 2013. The Doernbecher Freestyle XIX collection seamlessly blends creative designs with charity, bringing joy to sneakerheads and contributing to a noble cause.
    The new Air Jordan 3 Doernbecher "Hugo" pays tribute to the author's favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks, by adopting their iconic color scheme.
